What will you eat onboard The Smiling Seahorse?

A holidays with us is rhythmed by DIVE | EAT | SLEEP

What will you eat onboard The Smiling Seahorse?
Choui, our super chef
Choui, our super chef
We take you to the best dive sites and offer you the most comfortable cabins, but our chef is probably what brings back the most raving reviews!

French and Thais are both very serious about good food, we combined our forces to offer both Thai and International cuisine for everyone’s enjoyment.

When do we eat on The Smiling Seahorse?

A diving day goes a bit like this:
Wake up, have coffee and a few bites if you like before the first dive at 7am.

Breakfast onboard The Smiling Seahorse...
Come up around 8, it is time for a full breakfast.
We have eggs, toasts, cut fruits, cereals, yogurts, butter and homemade jams. Filtered coffee, tea, juices or Nescafé for those who prefer…
In the fridge, you will find milk or soy milk for the vegan/ Lactose intolerant…
Then you can enjoy a little nap in your cabin or in the hammock… Or enjoy other activities from one of our chilling areas.
Chitchat, play a board game, read a book, watch the islands pass you by, spot some dolphins on the horizon…
Or go snorkeling, explore the next beach from our kayak, go swimming and laugh with your buddies!
11am is usually the time for the second dive, gear up, buddy check and let’s go!

Lunch onboard The Smiling Seahorse

12pm: The second meal takes place, and it’s a perfect time to share what you saw on your last dive!
Some meals we serve for Lunch: Thai fried rice, pad thai, potatoes salad with meat balls in both meat and veggie options for example replacing meat balls by yummy homemade falafels.

Waiting for the lovely dinner...
Waiting for the lovely dinner...
Enjoy your surface interval again before the 3rd dive at 3pm and when you surface, it is time again for a lovely afternoon snack around 4pm. Some of the most appreciated afternoon snacks are banana fritters, crepes or spring rolls.

The last dive is either at sunset or a night dive, but always precede a lovely dinner!

Apéritif is strongly embedded in the French culture and as we are strongly against drinking and diving, we always wait for the end of the last dive to enjoy a beer, a Rum or a glass of wine!

Dinner is usually the most diverse meal with several curries, salads, soup or even barbecue (on every trip!)
For barbecue, we vary from cruise to cruise, but we could have slow roasted lamb leg or crispy pork knuckle accompanied by juicy sausages and perfectly smoked chicken wings, hand cut French fries (done Brussels style!),

How could you not drool in front of this melting tender meat wrapped in crispy crackling skin?

Special diets

Our chef has been with us since Day one of The Smiling Seahorse in 2012 and is very used to managing all specific diets: vegetarian, vegan, lactose/ glucose intolerant or managing your allergies and tastes, it is never a problem so don’t forget to mention it in your booking form, so we can shop accordingly...
We hope you enjoyed this little snapshot of our daily table and look forward to welcoming you soon for your own gastronomic Dive Eat Sleep experience!
