Discover the small creatures of the Andaman Sea
Some of the most fascinating encounters underwater are not with the biggest animals, but with the tiny creatures hiding among the reef. Shrimp, nudibranchs, crabs and other small reef inhabitants can be surprisingly easy to miss unless you slow down and look carefully.
Our Andaman Sea marine life guide explores some of the species divers can encounter in this part of the world, from colourful reef fish to unusual invertebrates.
Whether you are exploring the Similan Islands, the Surin Islands or the remote reefs of Myanmar, keeping an eye out for macro life can turn an ordinary dive into a memorable one.
This week, we want to show you the tiny. The small stuff. Because we know that there are some macro lovers out there, some photographs who dream of getting always closer, some treasure hunters who want to tick as many tiny creatures off the list as possible. Well, Burma is the place.

This eel normally only shows the very end of its snout… This one was nice enough to pose for Frank’s camera.
