As you know, the ocean is at risk nowadays from fishing, trashing and pollution. It is really important for divers to be aware of the importance of keeping our ocean clean and protecting this environment.
Below are a few basic reminders and simple tips to keep in mind in order to preserve the richness of our underwater world.
- Learn about the ecosystems that you will discover. It is also important to choose a responsible diving centre that respects the environment. You can also find out about endangered and protected species and regulations.
- When you are on the boat, do not throw anything overboard. Be sure to secure the emergency regulators, pressure gauges and consoles, if they dangle they could break corral (and get damaged). Prefer short fins to avoid touching the reef while finning.
During your dive :
You have an important role in protecting the environment. Think about checking your ballast and fin gently. Of course do not take anything, only pictures,avoid contact with plants and animals fixed, do not harass animals and do not feed fish.
After diving :
Do not buy souvenirs torn from the sea, boycott restaurants that serve endangered species. Fish are our friends, we don't eat them! :)
