A great start to the cruise!
We had a great start with instructors and divemasters from Big Blue in Koh Tao, a French couple freshly certified in Lake Geneva, and Emilie, a member of The Smiling Seahorse family! 🙂

Dive, eat, sleep… repeat!
We had a busy program during the cruise, repeating the “dive, eat, sleep” routine: four dives and meals a day, nearly as many naps, and time spent logging dives or discussing serious matters, like the name of the tiny creature spotted during the last dive that no one had ever seen before!
Everything ran smoothly. After two months of pampering in the shipyard, the boat was looking great, and we enjoyed a few improvements onboard.
But what made us happiest was that the diving was still as good! Phew!!!

Six days in Myanmar’s waters
We spent six days diving in Myanmar, far from the crowds. We were glad to see that the corals were still stunning in colour and diversity, the fish were still there, and we were even lucky enough to spot three eagle rays on the first day, two on the third and two on the fifth!
Our enormous nurse shark was still napping in its usual cave, bamboo sharks were hiding in the cracks, and nudibranchs, shrimps and crabs were still roaming around: Burma as usual. We’ll never get enough!

Macro treasures everywhere!
We encountered plenty of different nudibranch species and had some enthusiasts onboard! Thankfully, we had several identification books to help us find the right names for our logbooks.
Tapestry shrimps, squat shrimps, mantis shrimps, lobsters and so many different crabs, especially during night dives! Orangutan crabs were imitating pieces of coral to camouflage themselves, and we also spotted strange-looking frogfish, stonefish, pipefish, octopuses, cuttlefish and plenty of scorpionfish. We had a blast!

The seahorses were still smiling!
We were delighted to confirm that the seahorses kept on smiling! No fewer than eight seahorses greeted us on the last dives, probably happy to see some company again after six months away from camera flashes! 😉

It was an amazing trip, diving away from the crowds. Thank you to everyone who joined us — we hope to see you again soon!
