Back to Black Rock!

Trip 4: A Fantastic Team Exploring the Mergui Archipelago

Fantastic team on this Trip 4, from the 13th to the 20th of March! We were so happy to welcome on board Sanne and Lieske from the Netherlands; the crazy Israeli connection with Mandy, Pablo and Lior; Max, Ashley and Rick from the USA; Delphine and Bertrand from France; Jim from Australia; and our beginner divemaster Kostas from Greece!

With such an international crew of guests, we knew we were in for a fun week on board. From the very beginning, there was a great atmosphere among the group, with everyone sharing the same excitement about discovering the remote waters of the Mergui Archipelago.

A week of diving in the Mergui Archipelago

A Myanmar diving liveaboard is as much about the experience on board as it is about what happens underwater. Spending several days at sea gives you the chance to explore remote dive sites that would be difficult to reach on a day trip, while enjoying the relaxed rhythm of life on the boat between dives.

For this group, it was a week of diving, exploring, relaxing and enjoying time together far away from everyday life. The Mergui Archipelago is an extraordinary setting for a liveaboard adventure, with hundreds of islands scattered across the Andaman Sea and a fascinating underwater world waiting to be explored.

Every dive can bring something different. One moment you can be watching schools of reef fish moving over the rocks, and the next you can be searching the reef for one of the tiny creatures that make diving in Myanmar so rewarding. And, of course, there is always the possibility of a much bigger surprise appearing out in the blue!

Another trip, another photographic disaster!

Unfortunately, we had the same issues as on the previous trip when it came to photography. So once again, there aren’t many underwater pictures to illustrate this particular adventure.

But don’t worry! Your devoted blogger wasn’t going to let a little photographic incident stop the story. When the camera fails, you simply have to find another way to share the memories. And this time, we found a nice video that gives you a taste of the atmosphere and adventures from the cruise.

Let the video tell the story

So rather than trying to fill the blog with pictures that we don’t have, we’ve got something much better: a video!

Click on the link below and enjoy a little glimpse of the trip, the people, the diving and the adventures of Trip 4 in the Mergui Archipelago.

And hopefully, everything will be back to normal on the next one! 😉

Until then, a big thank you to Sanne, Lieske, Mandy, Pablo, Lior, Max, Ashley, Rick, Delphine, Bertrand, Jim and Kostas for being part of this adventure and helping make it such a memorable trip.

See you underwater for the next cruise!
