Whale Sharks, Mobula Rays and Blackwater Diving: Another Memorable Andaman Sea Cruise
But that’s not the only reason this cruise was so wonderful! Read more…
A Cruise with Friends and New Divers
We had some of our favourite divers onboard and were delighted to welcome back these lovely divers, who are now part of The Smiling Seahorse family.
Not only did we have the pleasure of continuing to dive with eight French friends who were already on the previous cruise, but a lovely British family joined us for their third cruise on the Smiling Seahorse in just one year! They first came last Christmas as novice divers and now have more than 50 dives, most of them with us.
Flo, 15, is now a Deep Diver, Nitrox certified and a talented underwater photographer 🙂
Maisie, 13, is an Advanced diver and enjoys diving with the rest of her family down to 21 metres.
Claire is now such a confident diver after overcoming an initial fear of the ocean, while Paul became a GoPro enthusiast 🙂

Better Weather, Better Visibility and Better Sightings
For various reasons, this trip was a lot luckier than the previous one: better weather, better visibility and better sightings!
Mike was another friend coming back for more underwater adventures, this time bringing his friend along for her first diving experience. And what a trip it was!
Congratulations to Aor for completing her Open Water course with her private guide Julie, as well as her Deep and Night Adventure dives. We look forward to having you and Mike back soon!
Can you believe Aor met Mr Whale Shark on her 10th dive ever!!! When others wait for years, it seems pretty unfair!

Whale Sharks and Mobula Rays Around Koh Lanta and Tarutao
Why did we love diving around Tarutao and Koh Lanta National Parks?
We got lucky at 8 Miles, where we had a friendly visit from a mobula ray, and lucky again at Koh Haa, where a 7-metre whale shark came to say hello. What graceful animals!
Unfortunately, my group didn’t get to see the whale shark as we were exploring the wonderful caves of Koh Haa. Julie, with her brand-new Open Water student Aor, got luckier and managed to capture a quick video.

Sixteen Guests and Plenty of Smiles
Out of 16 guests this week, we only had four new guests to welcome to the big Smiling Seahorse family. We had a blast with you all and look forward to more dives and laughter with you on the Andaman Sea.

And What About the Blackwater Dives?
Oh, and did I talk about the Blackwater dives? This baby seahorse and pufferfish came right at us to strike a pose 🙂

From exciting first dives and new certifications to whale sharks, mobula rays, turtles and the mysterious creatures of the blackwater, this was another memorable few days exploring the Andaman Sea with a fantastic group of divers from around the world.
