Thailand Liveaboard Diving: From Surin and the Similan Islands to Koh Lanta, Tarutao and Phi Phi
Happy Chinese New Year from the whole team at The Smiling Seahorse!!!
Wishing you all a joyous and prosperous Year of the Rabbit, filled with love, happiness and success! As we turn the page on another chapter, let us embrace the opportunities and challenges that come with it. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to serving you in the coming year. Happy New Year!

Surin National Park and Richelieu Rock
This week started with a beautiful day in Surin National Park, with a very international group of divers from France, Japan, Belgium, China, Germany and the United States.

As usual, Richelieu Rock offered us some amazing dives. We were lucky enough to witness a ghost pipefish releasing its eggs, while a harlequin shrimp was busy eating a sea star. The reef was alive with big fish hunting around schools of glassfish, making every dive an exciting one.

Exploring the Similan Islands, Koh Tachai and Koh Bon
We then entered Similan National Park, spending the second day around Koh Tachai and Koh Bon for four great dives, including a night dive.
Our encounters included turtles, lobsters, barracudas, trevallies, fusiliers and even some Spanish dancer eggs. We then cruised south through the archipelago, diving at Three Trees, Elephant Head Rock and West of Eden. We love these dive sites for their macro life, nudibranchs and crustaceans, and there is always something small and fascinating to discover when you take the time to look closely.

Three Days of Diving Around Koh Lanta and Tarutao
Over the following three days, we dived around Koh Lanta and Tarutao National Park. The dive sites are always wonderful, and the amount and diversity of coral reef life impress us every time. From colourful reef scenes to tiny macro subjects, these southern Andaman Sea sites offer plenty to keep divers busy throughout the day.

Blackwater Diving in Thailand
We also encountered some weird and cute creatures during the blackwater dive. These night-time dives are always full of surprises, with unusual pelagic animals appearing from the darkness and providing fascinating photographic opportunities.

Phi Phi Islands and Shark Point
On our last day, we explored Phi Phi Islands and Shark Point, where we encountered a blacktip reef shark, lots of beautiful nudibranchs and flatworms. The variety of marine life made for a fantastic final day of diving.

Congratulations to Coralie, Anthony and Phoebe for completing their Enriched Air Nitrox course, and to Kevin for his two certifications: Enriched Air Nitrox and Advanced Open Water.
Thank you all for choosing The Smiling Seahorse! Hope you had a great holiday!!
