Mergui Archipelago Dive Cruise with the Sairee Cottage Diving Team
Coming straight from the island of Koh Tao, we were very happy to welcome the Sairee Cottage Diving Team on board for a wonderful Myanmar diving adventure in the Mergui Archipelago: Trevor, Bear, Barry, Farrell, Emma, Lionel, Gary, Martin, Natalie, Nicholas, Paddy and Sameer.
It was a great group to have on board, and the cruise gave us plenty of opportunities to explore the underwater world of this remote part of the Andaman Sea.
Mantas at Black Rock and Western Rocky
We had the chance to see manta rays again, first at Black Rock; and second, we spotted some on Western Rocky from the surface. Unfortunately, no picture … so you’ll have to take my word for it 😉
We were also blessed with fantastic diving conditions, with no current and amazing visibility. Conditions like these make exploring the reefs of the Mergui Archipelago particularly enjoyable, with the underwater scenery stretching out in front of you.

Beautiful corals and huge schools of fish
Beautiful corals and fishes everywhere! Jacks, barracudas, fusiliers, snappers, emperors … there was always something moving through the blue or hiding among the reef.

From sharks and rays to tiny critters
We were lucky enough to meet big and small underwater. Beginning with sharks: bamboo sharks and whitetip reef sharks …

And then the huge marbled rays …

Then came the cephalopods: octopuses and cuttlefishes …

Stonefish …

And millions of shrimps, all kinds …

Crabs …

Seahorses, pineapple fish and nudibranchs
Seahorses and their relatives …

Good times onboard
It has been a great ambience on the boat too … Never running dry like real pirates do 😉

From Koh Tao to the remote reefs of Myanmar, this was another memorable liveaboard diving holiday in the Mergui Archipelago, with everything from mantas and sharks to tiny nudibranchs, seahorses and crustaceans.
Hoping to see you again next year for some new overseas adventures!!!
