Mergui Archipelago Diving: Black Rock, Burma Banks and a Whale Shark Birthday Surprise
For our first 9-day trip of the season, we welcomed 9 return guests repeating the Smiling Seahorse experience, along with 6 new friends!
It has been an unforgettable trip! We navigated to both Black Rock and the Burma Banks, where we had some truly incredible encounters.

At Black Rock, we met giant marbled rays, schools of pickhandle barracudas, 2 beautiful frogfish and around 30 guitarfish!! WOW!!!

Seahorses around Shark Cave
Then we spent a day around Shark Cave, where we spotted tons of tiger-tail seahorses!

Four spectacular dives on the Burma Banks
The Burma Banks also delivered 4 spectacular dives, with so many huge nurse sharks swimming around, curious silvertips checking us out and a majestic green turtle.

A whale shark birthday surprise
Back in the Mergui Archipelago, we had incredible dives at Seafan Forest, where we found another two giant frogfish. Then, at Dendro’s Peak, a WHALE SHARK appeared, swimming with us for the whole dive on top of the pinnacle!! Simply amazing!!!
