A new Eco-friendly liveaboard in Thailand

Particularly suitable to fun divers and photographers

 https://www.thesmilingseahorse.com

The Smiling Seahorse experience

Making your dream diving holidays come true!
The Smiling Seahorse runs dive cruises since 2012 to the top rating dive sites around the Andaman sea.  We operate MV Smiling Seahorse, a brand new (November 2018), comfortable liveaboard conceived by and for divers for an ultimate experience.
We use to run trips in Myanmar (Burma) until the borders closed in 2020 and now run all over the west coast of Thailand from Richelieu Rock in the Surin Islands, to Koh Lipe in the South Andaman near the Malaysian border passing by the Similan islands, Phi Phi and Koh Lanta national parks.
The smiling seahorse has just what you need for an unforgettable diving holiday: a friendly staff, comfortable boat, exceptional service and breathtaking diving.

Our destinations are exclusives, we don't like to dive on busy dive sites and we know you don't either. When we go to Richelieu Rock or other world famous dives site which are not to be missed, we do our best to time the dives away from the crowds and always jump in small group of up to 4 divers + 1 guide with a few minutes intervals to the next group.

You will come back from each one of your dives with stories to tell and new species to search in our fish encyclopedias from the small frog fish, ghost pipe fishes, seahorses to the large whale sharks and mantas, our waters have a very diverse marine life!

We like to spoil our guests with yummy food (European, Asian and BBQ) and personalised services, which is why we only take up to 16 passengers on our spacious vessel.

Beside the amazing diving, you can also take our canoe to one of the many white sanded beaches or go swimming and snorkeling in the sapphire blue waters.

Marine Conservation is important to us!

The Smiling Seahorse's promises
  • to abides by Green fins  principles
  • to encourage environmentally responsible diving practices
  • to reduce/ reuse/ recycle as much as we can
  • to offer reef friendly products: such as our refillable organic, reef -safe Soap, Shampoo and hair conditioner.
  • to ask all our employees to help in ocean conservation efforts
  • To support marine science research and clean up projects
We are part of the Manta Trust Operator Wall of Fame - a community of tourism operators showcased for their blue commitment to manta conservation and sustainable dive and snorkel tourism.

The team

Camille and Franck the Smiling seahorse ownersCamille and Franck, the owners
Both french, Franck and Camille met with a passion in common: diving. Each holidays were an opportunity to discover a little piece of the underwater world and we quickly discovered that liveaboards were the best way to discover unspoiled dive sites.
Burma took it to a whole new level and we discovered here the wonder of diving with no other boat at sight. And when it came to establishing ourselves, Ranong came as the perfect location.
Our main concern is to make sure you have a safe and unforgettable diving experience.
We have 4 instructors onboard in order to have no more than 4 divers per guide.
Franck is an MSDT PADI Instructor and is always glad to share his experience. He will be glad to guide you or teach you new diving techniques and specialties.
Camille traveled the world for 7 years before stopping in Ranong, she is a tough critic when it comes to client servicing and takes care of the logistics, special requests and other practicality before and after the cruise.
The food onboard is always rated excellent and service rated top notch.

In addition to the 4 dive guides, we have a captain, 2 mechanics, 2 chefs and 2 boat boys at your service for a great holidays.

WHAT WILL YOU EAT ON THE MV SMILING SEAHORSE?
We take you to the best dive sites and offer you the most comfortable cabins, but our chef is probably what brings back the most raving reviews!
French and Thais are both very serious about good food, we combined our forces to offer both Thai and International cuisine for everyone’s enjoyment.
