Our selection of nice hotels in Ranong
Sook hotel, The B Ranong and Farm house are the 3 best options if you want to stay nearby our shop (and all restaurants downtown).
Sook hotel
Opened last year, Sook hotel is the newest one and we only received great reviews from guests who stayed there before/after our cruises. In particular the breakfast and ground floor swiming pool were the most appreciated features.
Sook Hotel offers a restaurant, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.
The pool and light colored rooms are beautiful. Note that the hotel doesn’t provide alcohol, however there are restaurants all around and it is 100 m away from The Smiling Seahorse.
The reception is open 24/24 to cover your needs. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and is free of charge.
All rooms are equipped with a TV. The private bathrooms have a shower, a hairdryer and many essential toiletries are at your disposal. All are equipped with a refrigerator.
Sook Hotel offers a restaurant, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.

Farm House
The Farm House hotel has a pool on the ground floor and comfortable rooms also with good reviews.
They serve a better breakfast than the B Ranong (with many thai dishes to try but not as good as Sook hotel) overall a great value.

Le B Ranong trend hotel is the cheapest of the 3 with a modern design in the middle of the main street, you'll have a pool on the roof top, bar/ restaurant and snooker room prices for Superior is 1300thb (minibar, safetybox, hair dryer, dvd and music player), for 1600 you can stay in Deluxe (you'll also have coffee/ tea facilities and bathrobe in the room), 1900 in Suite room (larger and nicer room with all facilities

Thai Style 4 star low rise hotel and villa resort. 3 types of room: 2300 THB for Superior, 3600 THB for Delux, 5600 THB for Suite Villa

A bit out of town but a lovely boutique hotel: Hidden Resort
The Hidden Resort Hotel is the newest hotel in Ranong with only 8 rooms: 2 garden pavilions, 5 hidden villas in double bed + 1 in twin bed, you are sure to feel lie home. There is a lovely restaurant

On the way between Phuket and Ranong
It could also be a great idea to stop on the way from Phuket to Ranong and stay either in Khao Lak an hour north of Phuket airport ( 3 hours to Ranong) or in Kuraburi, midway (2 hours from phuket airport and 2 hours to Ranong)
Khao Lak
Offering a lovely beach and cheap 4 stars accommodation, Khao Lak is a good option to stop after a long flight. I have selected Manathai resort Khao Lak which has raving reviews and a very good price for the type of accommodation.
Khao Lak being a touristic destination, there are plenty of other options for you to choose but I like this one.

Kuraburi
Perfectly located between Phuket airport and Ranong, Kuraburi is a small town off the beaten track with a lovely resort in the middle of the rain forest. For Nature lovers, Kuraburi greenview Resort has all the comfort you may need: an outdoor pool, excellent Thai food, bike and canoe rental.
If you have a day to spare, they can also organize a day trip for you such as trekking in the jungle or canoe in the mangrove + walk to a waterfall or snorkeling trip to nearby islands etc. (just ask me if you are interested as it needs to be booked in advance).
