Mergui Archipelago, a week to Black Rock
We had another great trip this week with a group of French divers who chartered the boat to dive in the Mergui Archipelago, we went all the way up north to Black Rock and had a blast!
Usually when you see a cobia up there, you look carefully in the blue for a bigger fish. They are known to choose infamous travel companions such as the giant blotched sting rays, mantas rays or whale sharks. This time, they were traveling as a school, more than 30 of them coming close for a good look at us.

In the smallest and most colorful part of the range, we encountered again a few pairs of harlequin shrimps, I must admit they are some of the most amazing underwater photo models showing of their funny shape and bright colors.
in North twin pinnacle, a Baramundi was spotted! what a lovely grouper! They are quite shy and this is the best picture Franck ever got of one of them before they turned into a darker corner...
Around Shark cave we found some ghost pipefish. These tricking fishes are the kings of camouflage...
