1) Families of clownfish live under a unique social hierarchy. The biggest fish on the anemone is the dominant female and the next biggest is her mate. If she dies, her mate will change gender and take on the role of the matriarch.

2) GUITARSHARK aren't SHARKS!!!

3) MANTA Rays can jump out of water!
Why do mantas jump out of the water? Scientists are still unsure about the meaning of the jumps. Few reasons are proposed. It could be to remove parasites from their body, it can also be a form of mating ritual, or of socialisation (show off!!). (read more about the Giant oceanic manta)

4) The mantis shrimp can punch at the speed of a bullet. If a human being could move that fast, they could break steel!
5) Jellyfish have been around for over 650 millions years, longer than dinosaurs or sharks.
6) Dolphins need to sleep 8 hours each day. To do this one part of their large brain will rest and the other will keep the animal breathing and aware in case of danger.
7) How do schools of fish move as one without bumping into each other? Along with keeping an eye on each other they also have a special row of pores along their sides called the lateral line. Tiny pressure sensitive hair cells feel the movement of the other fish around them so they can stick together.
8) Oysters can change sex at will and most will do it at least once in their lifetime. They usually start their life as males but change to females for their more fertile years. Some even say it is technically possible for an oyster to be its own mate.
9) When a puffer fish feels threatened it will fill its stomach with water to expand up to 3 times its original size. This displaces and flattens their organs which causes an enormous amount of stress to the fish. Some won't survive the experience so please be sure to never tease one into puffing up.
10) Turtles have been known to cry but not because they are having a bad day. They will use special glands in their eyes to flush out the salty sea water with what looks just like tears.
