To start our special 2020's exploration trip in the Andaman Islands!
We had a bit of wind and waves on the way, and everyone was happy to watch the Indian islands getting closer !
Huge barrel sponges everywhere, huge groupers swimming around and loads of fishes in this amazing clear water with more than 30m visibility !
Narcondam is a volcanic island with some endemic hornbills and different other types of birds living in the trees.
A small group of indians ranger are staying there to protect this hidden gem and we didn't see another boat within the 3 days we stayed there.
As a bonus we saw : many sharks, silvertip, and whitetip reef sharks. Some rays: Torpedo rays, huge marbled rays, some bluespotted sting rays and even a couple of manta rays made a quick appearance for us!
One of our highlight was the psychedelic batwing slug, it looks like a nudibranch but it is a rare headshield slug who enjoyed the dark sand around this island !
On the way back it was a calmer sea (the usual very flat sea that we are used to in this season) and it was a smooth and easy ride for everyone!
We are considering doing another special trip again next season, here or maybe to explore a different part...
If You want to join, get in touch for more details.
Thanks to all who made this trip possible and see you soon !
